Guide
How Much Does a Small Business Website Cost in 2026?
Short answer: A professional small business website typically costs $80–$600 as a fixed-price package from an independent studio: about $80–$300 for a 1–5 page site and $445–$600 for a 10-page site with a blog, booking forms and full SEO. Online stores start around $85. Budget a little each year for your domain, hosting and optional maintenance.
If you are a small business owner in the US, website quotes can range from “under $100” to “$10,000+”, which makes it hard to know what is fair. This guide uses our own fixed prices plus market data we collected in October 2026, so you can see what you actually get at each price.

What you get at each price level
Around $80–$150: a one-page website
Right for a new business, a single service, an event or a food truck. You get one well-designed, mobile-friendly page with your services, a contact form and social links. This is enough to look professional on Google and to share a link with customers.
Around $250–$300: a 5-page business website
The sweet spot for most small businesses. Typically Home, About, Services, Gallery or Portfolio, and Contact, plus a Google Map, basic SEO and Google Analytics. This is what most restaurants, contractors, salons and consultants need.
Around $450–$600: a 10-page website with extras
For businesses with several services or locations, or that want to publish content. Expect a blog or gallery, booking or quote forms, animations and a full SEO setup.
What makes a website cost more?
- Number of pages. Each page needs design, content placement and testing.
- Custom features. Online booking, quote calculators, member areas and integrations add time.
- E-commerce. Product uploads, payments, shipping and tax settings take extra setup.
- Content. If you need help writing text or sourcing photos, that adds work.
- Speed. Express delivery is usually available for a fee, for example 2 days instead of 4.
- Custom code vs a site builder. A hand-coded site is faster and fully yours; a WordPress site is easier to edit yourself. Both are good choices. See our WordPress vs Shopify vs custom website guide.
Ongoing costs to budget for
A website is not only a one-time cost. Plan for:
- Domain name: a .com domain typically costs around $10–$25 a year from registrars such as Namecheap, Cloudflare or GoDaddy.
- Hosting: shared hosting for a small business site is often under $15 a month. Shopify stores pay Shopify’s own monthly plan instead of hosting.
- Maintenance (optional): updates, backups and small edits. Our maintenance plans are $30, $70 or $170 a month.
We set up the domain and hosting in your own account, so you own everything and never depend on us.
What independent developers charge: market data
In October 2026 we reviewed the published packages of 9–10 Level 1 and Level 2 sellers per category on Fiverr (excluding “Top Rated” and agency gigs) and took the median price of each package tier:
| Service | Basic (median) | Standard (median) | Premium (median) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Custom-coded landing page | $80 | $140 | $250 |
| Website redesign (WordPress) | $80 | $250 | $480 |
| Website speed optimization | $30 | $50 | $60 |
| Website maintenance (per month) | $30 | $67.50 | $172.50 |
Our prices sit at or near these medians, so you are paying a fair market rate, not a premium for a big agency’s overheads.

Frequently asked questions
Is a $100 website any good?
It can be, if it is a one-page site built properly: custom design, mobile-friendly, fast and with a working contact form. Be wary of very cheap prices for multi-page sites, which often mean a reused template.
Do I need to pay monthly for a website?
Only for the domain, hosting (or Shopify plan) and optional maintenance. The website build itself is a one-time fixed price.
How long does it take to build a small business website?
Usually 3–10 days for a 1–10 page site once we have your content. Online stores and web apps take longer.
