How Much Does It Cost to Build an Android App in 2026?
Short answer: A simple Android app with up to 5 screens can cost around $100, a business app with login, a database and up to 10 screens around $250, and a complete app with a backend, notifications, payments and Google Play submission around $550 from independent developers. Larger, custom products cost more and are quoted by scope.
App quotes vary enormously, because “an app” can mean anything from a 3-screen tool to a full marketplace. This guide breaks down what Android apps really cost in 2026, using our own fixed packages and market data from independent developers.
Android app prices at a glance
Our fixed Android app development packages, built natively in Kotlin:
| Package | Price | Screens | What’s included | Delivery |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter Android App | $100 | Up to 5 | App icon, splash screen, clean UI, source code | 3 days |
| Business Android App | $250 | Up to 10 | Firebase login and database, API integration, ads, source code | 7 days |
| Complete Android App | $550 | Up to 20 | Custom backend, push notifications, payments or ads, Google Play submission | 21 days |
Market data: what independent developers charge
In October 2026 we reviewed the published packages of 8 Level 1 and Level 2 Android developers on Fiverr (excluding “Top Rated” and agency gigs):
| Tier | Median price | Typical range | Median delivery |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $100 | $5–$160 | 2.5 days |
| Standard | $250 | $50–$400 | 6 days |
| Premium | $550 | $200–$1,500 | 25.5 days |
Our packages match the market medians, with the added benefit that we also publish our own apps on Google Play.
What drives the cost of an app?
- Number of screens. Each screen needs design, logic and testing.
- Accounts and data. Login, user profiles and a cloud database (for example Firebase) add setup.
- A backend. Admin panels, APIs and server logic are often the biggest cost driver.
- Payments and subscriptions. Google Play Billing or Stripe integrations need careful testing.
- Offline support. Apps that work without internet and sync later take more engineering.
- Google Play publishing. Store listing, screenshots, privacy policy and review compliance.
Hidden costs to plan for
- Google Play developer account: a one-time registration fee paid to Google.
- Backend hosting: many apps start on free tiers (such as Firebase) and pay more as they grow.
- Updates: Android versions and Google Play policies change, so plan for occasional updates.
How long does it take?
A simple app can be ready in days. A business app usually takes 1–2 weeks, and a complete app with a backend 3–4 weeks. Complex products are planned in phases.
Native Android or cross-platform?
We build native Android apps in Kotlin, which give the best performance and the most reliable access to device features. If you need iOS as well, ask us about your options before you start.
